History of Kickstart Motorcycles..

Kickstart Motorcycles was founded in 1976 in sunny South Wales (Port Talbot), by the present owner, Paul Reynolds. From modest beginnings and with a policy of continual re-investment, Kickstart continued to develop through the highs and lows of the 1980's and 1990's. Kickstart began by specializing in spares, accessories, clothing and used motorcycles. As the business grew, expansion saw Kickstart joining and supporting the various franchises of the time, and becoming one of wales leading motorcycle dealerships

At the 1988 National Motorcycle Show all this changed with a small company called "Aprilia Motor UK" and their display of a total of three machines - 1 motorcycle and 2 scooters! Aprilia's salesman, Steve Reynolds (no relation), didn't have to work hard to sell their motorcycles, which were strikingly 'wantable' by all enthusiasts.  At the time, Paul considered the Aprilia RS 125 "the most sexiest, gorgeous machine on the planet!"

This began Kickstart's bond with Aprilia Motor UK.  Today, Aprilia is the leading European manufacturer of motorcycles, posing a major threat to the Japanese dominated motorcycle marketplace.

Such is Paul's loyalty and commitment to Aprilia, that in 2000 Kickstart sponsored 2 riders  from wales in the Aprilia 125 Challenge; another 2 riders on the RS250 and 1 rider on the RSV1000R.  Regarding himself as a "hands-on" sort of person, it is a common sight to find Paul in the workshop with the racing Aprilias, preparing for the next meeting - tweaking and tuning the various models to attain their maximum potential.

Kickstart prides itself on being "THE" UK's longest official independent stockists of Aprilia Motorcycles, spares, accessories and clothing, to both the passing trade and mail order.

Listening to new and old motorcycle enthusiasts' needs and requirements, Kickstart still maintains its original focus on re-investment and providing friendly service to all in Wales and the rest of the UK and looks forward to another 25 years of trading!
