1997 SEASON

In 1996 Piaggio UK announced that in the following year they would be a national scooter racing series and were encouraging franchised dealers like our selves to take part. In 1997 season I had 2 riders which included my son Charles. These Piaggio Zip SP twist 'go' scooters proved to be a nightmare to set up in the early part of the season and if you didn't get it right they would launch you airborne with a power band of only 500rpm. As the 1997 season drew to a close my 2^nd rider did not show for the last 2 rounds, as an ex BSB rider he was constantly being beaten by youngsters ½ his aged. 1997 was a big learning curve as how a twist 'n' go can be tuned up and problems incurred which would put me in good steed for my business.
